At Glen Oaks School, our students benefit from the support of both highly-qualified and compassionate professional grade-level teachers who collaborate with content specialists to provide all of our students with a well-rounded education. Our systematic and collaborative approach to classroom instruction and intervention allows for each student to receive a learner-centered education tailored toward individual growth. With the support of the North Palos School District 117 Board of Education and administration, the staff of Glen Oaks School provides additional targeted support beyond the traditional school day to further facilitate student academic growth. Our tailored system provides invaluable resources in supporting our students and is evidenced in our increased academic achievement.
Our Glen Oaks School family celebrates its unique diversity. Forty percent of our students are identified as English Learners, representing over 15 different languages. Our EL program goals aim to provide the necessary supports to ensure English language development and acquisition, while maintaining high expectations in all content areas. We foster an inclusive, targeted learning environment for learners with disabilities and provide wrap-around support for 63% of our population who come from low-income households. Programs are also offered to challenge and extend the thinking of our students through honors courses, as well as after-school extension programs.
Our team takes great pride in fostering a strong sense of community and teamwork through the relationships that have been developed with all of our stakeholders. We are Glen Oaks!
