Pinecrest Academy (North Campus) - Miami, FL

Pinecrest Academy North is a K-8 public charter school located in Miami, FL that offers its students a rigorous STEM-focused curriculum accompanied by numerous electives. Having a population of 95% Hispanic families, many of our stakeholders face a language barrier as a challenge. Despite of the language gap and having over 60% of the students qualifying for free and reduced lunch, our students have excelled through the hard work and dedication of teachers, administrators, community partners, and parents.

There are numerous components that contribute to the success of Pinecrest Academy North. Through the free, ongoing tutoring program, students continue to excel and surpass their academic goals. In addition, the school-wide activities not only enrich the curriculum, but also offer our stakeholders opportunities to volunteer, exposing students to real-world experiences from community leaders. The achievements of the school are evident through the Florida Standardized Assessments and End of Course passing scores. In 2016, Pinecrest Academy North was rated among the most equitable in the nation for low-income students according to the Inaugural Education Equality Index.

Pinecrest Academy North remains committed to student excellence by exposing students to a curriculum and clubs that build character, instill discipline, and create global leaders at an early age. Some of these programs include the Microsoft Office Specialist Certification, Project Lead the Way, Future Business Leaders of America, National Honor Society, and Student Council. Pinecrest Academy North takes pride in being an AdvancEd STEM certified school, ranking in the top percentage of the District and the State, and is honored to be named a National Blue Ribbon School.
