Summit Middle Charter School values scholarship by providing a rigorous curriculum and academic challenge in a caring community, which supports personal development and instills a lifelo?ng l?ove of learning. We know middle school is a key turning point for children because they are ready for enormous intellectual and personal growth. We provide a community of scholars with outstanding teachers, guided by an ambitious school mission. We develop independent learners with advanced habits of scholarship who are capable of meeting any academic challenge with a growth mindset. We believe that success starts with personal achievements and ends with contributions to others.
Our goal is to build self-esteem through academic rigor by carefully balancing effort and achievement. We promote learning over performing and believe that an authentic understanding is more important than a perfect grade. We help students manage stress and be mindful of healthy habits. We partner with supportive parents and inspiring community members to support student success.
Summit's history of sustaining academic excellence and caring community dates back to 1996. We have a uniquely beneficial relationship with our charter authorizer, Boulder Valley School District, where we are integrated into district operations. Support from the district has allowed for an innovative campus renovation featured in the book Learning By Design (2019). We are very proud to be receiving our fourth National Blue Ribbon Award!
