Tulita Elementary is a center of pride for close to 500 students in transitional kindergarten through 5th grade. Tulita has a culture of excellence, high expectations, collaboration, perseverance, risk-taking, and reflection. Our mission is to provide an environment that is physically, emotionally, and socially safe where students flourish and reach their full potential. The positive climate of the school is nourished by the joy of learning, caring for others, and respect for grit.
The Tulita experience is rooted in our belief that students thrive when social, emotional, and physical needs are met. This translates into educating the whole child which has resulted in the school being recognized nationally by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation from 2014 - 2018. What sets Tulita apart is its innovation, data-driven instruction, and decision making, supported through ongoing collaboration and professional development. Under the guidance of the school's instructional leadership team, teachers study standards, develop lessons based on student needs, analyze, and reflect upon teaching to improve practice. The growth mindset and productive struggle are deliberately messaged and students are encouraged to see failures as learning opportunities.
Tulita is dedicated to doing whatever it takes to ensure all students achieve success. We endeavor to produce students who are critical thinkers, life-long learners, and decision makers. Students who are prepared to be successful not only in school, but also in their adult lives and in a technologically competitive world. We believe that we don't do easy, we make easy happen through hard work and learning.
