Excellence is a way of life at Oxford Academy. Oxford Academy is a specialized high school in the Anaheim Union High School District (AUHSD) that focuses on preparing students for admission to and success at academically rigorous four-year universities. It is a public, college-preparatory 7th-12th grade school in Cypress, California. Students who live within the boundaries of AUHSD are eligible to test in the 6th grade for admission to the school, then the top performing students from each of the eight attendance areas are selected. While here, students are provided a rigorous academic environment with challenging courses including a variety of Advanced Placement courses.
The teaching staff at Oxford are dedicated to developing life-long learners and as such design their lessons to teach the 5 Cs: Creativity, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Communication, and Character. Students participate in a school-wide project-based learning focus on Civic Engagement and Action. We also have strong support systems in place, all of our students go through AVID training while they are in junior high in order to give them the essential skills for academic success by the time they enter high school.
We also have vibrant, award-winning visual and performing arts, activities, and athletics programs for both junior high and high school students. Oxford students are required to complete a 3-year Career and Technical Education program which was deemed Exemplary by the state of California. Students have the choice between four career pathways: Biotechnology, Entrepreneurship, Engineering, and Software and Systems Development.
