Without looking inward, there cannot be change outward. Six years ago, Daphne Elementary School made a commitment to living a more empowered life with one guiding "why" in mind: to communicate others' work and potential so clearly that they see it in themselves. This process has been, and will continue to be, facilitated through The Leader in Me process. This process requires adults to be highly reflective by exploring their own paradigms of teaching and learning, and developing more highly effective practices to educate children. This has not been easy, and the journey is far from over, but the shift from a mindset where "leadership is for the few" to "anyone can be a leader" is evident on our campus.

Every child and community member knows at Daphne Elementary School, we LOVE. LEARN. LEAD. This mission statement guides us in creating an educational experience for children unlike anywhere else. Our Pre-K-3rd grade configuration allows for us to create a nurturing environment and tailor our learning experiences to the interests of young children. All exceptional schools offer thoughtful, immersive instruction in reading, math, and the sciences. At Daphne Elementary, children are provided varied and unusual experiences based on their interest, such as sewing, coding, drama, archery, tennis, and cooking through their participation in a systematic rotation of clubs. All children are provided opportunities to find their genius, whether welcoming visitors in a school-wide job as a Principal Greeter, or advising a younger student on friendship as a Peer Helper. Children lead their own lives when they are provided multiple pathways to discover their natural leadership talents.

Daphne Elementary School systematically develops a strong character foundation in every child to enable them to make wise decisions in navigating an ever-changing world.
