Guin Elementary School is a rural school in Marion County, Alabama. We pride ourselves on being one of the top performing schools in the Marion County School system. The teachers and staff at GES are committed to our motto of "Changing Children's Lives". High standards for curriculum and instruction, support through mentoring programs, counseling, and social activities throughout the school year provide students with opportunities to reach their full potential.
GES teachers and staff meet regularly to discuss class and individual student achievement. We feel this has a direct correlation to our success. During these meetings, team members analyze data, set measurable and attainable goals, select and implement research-proven strategies, and monitor students' progress. Students receive differentiated, small group instruction during reading and math.
Chromebooks have recently been provided for the students in our school system. This technology will be beneficial to teachers, as well as students. We implement a variety of computer programs such as Success Maker and Class Works. These programs are instrumental in providing data from assessments, as well as providing opportunities for remediation and enrichment activities for students.
Guin Elementary is proud of its successes. Over the past few years we have continued to show academic growth and be one of the top achieving schools in our county. The faculty and staff are convinced that a true commitment to excellence is the key to our continued success.
