Colonial Elementary School is located in Blue Ridge, Virginia. At 80 years old, and with multiple generations of families attending our school, Colonial Elementary has quite a history and heritage in our community. Colonial has a deep sense of community with a very active PTA which supports our students, teachers and instructional program through funding and volunteering.

Leadership is a significant focus at Colonial. We serve students from preschool through fifth grade and believe that everyone can be a leader. We teach the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People to our students at every grade level, and it is a common language that our families adopt and encourage at home. We believe that habits are formed during the elementary years, and we work hard to instill good work ethic and the leadership principles in all of our students. We foster an inclusive nature where everyone is an important part of each classroom and collaboration with peers takes place daily. With grit and determination, our staff works collaboratively to build strong relationships with each student in order to help each one achieve their potential. Everyone learns differently and our students, through the years, discover their learning styles and learning preferences in flexible classrooms with individualized instruction. Students share their discoveries, as well as, their individual academic and personal goals with their parents in student led conferences. There is a strong sense of community felt as soon as you walk through our doors. We are teaching children…making a difference…because we care.
