Hume-Fogg strives to engage, equip, and empower the academically talented and culturally diverse students we serve. We serve just over 900 students in grades 9-12 who have demonstrated advanced academic achievement and a commitment to learning. Twenty-seven (27) different primary languages are spoken in our students' homes. The intellectual curiosity and diversity of our students are assets to our collective growth and meaningful interaction with the changing world in which we live.
All of our students complete at least three Advanced Placement (AP) credits to meet graduation requirements which ensures the participation of students from subgroups who otherwise may be under-represented in those courses. Great care is taken to hire and meaningfully support great teachers to ensure innovative instructional practices are taking place in all of our classes. Our students are provided with authentic, hands-on opportunities both in and out of the classroom to expand their knowledge of and engagement with the world. They are also taught the value of healthy disengagement, how to care for self and others, through our advisory system of supports known as "Knight Time," during which they participate in mindfulness, team building, games and other activities each day.
Hume-Fogg enjoys a rich heritage of excellence. Our strength lies in the interconnected threads of quality instruction, healthy culture, and the support of our staff, students, parents, alumni, and community partners. Our success is evidence of the good that can come from a community committed to a common cause – the quality education of our children.
