Donelson Elementary is one of two elementary schools that serves the small town of Arlington, TN. It was built in 2009 and has served between 550-850 students each year. It has become known throughout Shelby County as a school of excellence. Some of the awards that the school has won include: Top 3% in the state for achievement, straight A's on the Tennessee Report Card, a TN Reward School in 2014, 2015, and 2016, the 2014 Value Added Achievement Award from Ed Consumers Foundation, the 3rd best public school in Metro Area as named by 2015 Niche Ratings, and an A+ School as named by Memphis Business Journal.

Our community is proud of our school and offers much support. Parents are willing to help out in whatever way that they can to help our school succeed, and a local non-profit agency has adopted the school. We know that it takes a village to give our students the best education so we have welcomed assistance from our parents and our community.

Our school leadership team is one that has always held high expectations for themselves, our teachers, and students. Therefore, it is our truly "rock star" teachers that work with our students every day to fulfill those expectations that have made the difference at Donelson. Our teachers possess many talents, and they are not afraid to seek out another teacher for his/her expertise when help is needed. We have teacher programs in place to allow teachers to observe each other and provide constructive feedback so our students are continuously getting the best lesson possible.
