Charter Arts integrates art with a rigorous academic curriculum.

Lehigh Valley Charter School for the Arts (Charter Arts) was founded in 2003, and is located in the South Side neighborhood of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Once a center of heavy industry and steel production, the area is now an arts and cultural district including the Charter Arts campus.

Charter Arts strives to provide rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in all courses to ensure that students are always challenged. It enrolls up to 650 students per school year who audition for acceptance into one of seven artistic majors: dance, theatre, visual art, literary arts, vocal and instrumental music, production design, and figure skating. Charter Arts' unique arts-centered curriculum pairs pre-professional training in the art major with a core academic program.

Graduates of Charter Arts are balanced thinkers who are well-prepared for post-secondary education and other life experiences beyond high school. A vital factor contributing to the success of Charter Arts' students is the culture of curiosity and creativity that is fostered within all aspects of the school from administration to faculty, staff, and students. Charter Arts supports faculty in their creative endeavors and provides them with the flexibility needed to creatively meet the unique needs of their students. By focusing on the individual needs of students, Charter Arts faculty reaches a population from disparate backgrounds with diverse educational needs.

Student expectations are outlined in the student handbook: "Be Safe, Respectful, Responsible, Professional, and Creative." This motto helps all faculty and staff to hold students accountable while building a more positive learning environment.
