The Greenwood High School is located in a small community that covers 99 square miles in rural Perry County, Pennsylvania, and serves 235 aspiring learners within the Greenwood School District. Our school is committed to providing each student a personalized educational experience in a caring, supportive environment.
The key to our school's success has been the positive culture and our personal approach to student growth. The high expectation for academic achievement is consistent for our students regardless of their diverse academic or economic backgrounds. Our schedule has been designed to allow for intensification of core subject instruction for students needing support or enrichment in areas of interest. We continually explore ways to provide relevant educational experiences in preparation for college, career and life readiness. Teachers engage in professional learning and collaboration on a daily basis to afford student experiences that help foster critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration skills.
Every student has a Chromebook and teachers utilize technology to assist project-based learning. Our athletic teams, musical groups, and clubs cooperate so students are presented the opportunity to participate in multiple extracurricular activities. Recognition of our teams and clubs has been accomplished at the local, state and national level. Collectively, the faculty, staff, parents, students, and board of education form a strong foundation resulting in an educational experience centered on the well-being of all students.
