At Somers High School, we have created a safe and inclusive learning environment by remaining committed to the ideal that all students can find success. Our school has offered a wide variety of college level and Advanced Placement courses for many years and, as a recently authorized International Baccalaureate World School, we now also offer students the opportunity to take IB courses and earn a full IB Diploma. As a result, our students have access to rigorous college preparatory classes while still in high school.
Recognizing the importance of STEM, we offer a pre-engineering program through Project Lead the Way. Preparing students to be global citizens, we encourage them to continue their study of a world language and engage in both the visual and performing arts. With a strong focus on college and career readiness, we guide our students to pursue their passions while encouraging them to take a breadth of courses. We seek to produce well-rounded students who graduate with skills needed to compete in an ever-changing world. To that end, we also provide a variety of support structures to help students set and meet their individual learning goals.
Somers High School is a vibrant school community in which students take great pride in their school and exhibit a strong sense of school spirit. Our students support one another in a variety of areas, including athletics, academics, and the visual and performing arts. We offer rich opportunities for our students to pursue and discover their individual passions and interests.
