Success Academy (SA) Harlem 2 is a supportive and diverse school community where scholars become agile chess players, inquisitive scientists, expressive artists, and global citizens. Our dedicated staff prides themselves on the coaching, deep learning, and parent engagement that are the cornerstones of SA Harlem 2's success. Of SA Harlem 2s 456 scholars, 96% are minorities, 81% qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and 100% are reversing the achievement gap. On the 2017 NYS exams, SA Harlem 2 collectively ranked in the top 1% in both ELA and math in the state.
Founded in 2008, SA Harlem 2 believes that character development is fundamental to equipping scholars for success beyond academics. Walk the halls of SA Harlem 2, and you will see incredible works of art created by scholars and their families in celebration of Black History Month and shots of the ultra-talented SA Harlem 2 Dance Troupe performing at the Apollo Theater last year. School days are jam-packed with deep learning and co-curricular activities. It has been the greatest honor for our principal to work alongside families and staff at SA Harlem 2. It is no surprise that this year, six out of 13 rising principals across the SA network began their careers at SA Harlem 2 as teachers or assistant principals.
SA Harlem 2 is one of 47 SA schools serving 17,000 children across New York City, and one of six network schools that have been awarded a National Blue Ribbon since SA opened in 2006.
