Saint James Elementary School...honored to educate our world’s future leaders!
WE ARE PROUD! Saint James Elementary School (SJES) is a Catholic school committed to providing an enriching learning environment that sparks interest, curiosity and creativity; enabling all students to achieve their full intellectual and spiritual potential.
SJES' rigorous curriculum is focused on building a deep understanding of key skills and concepts, while fostering a love of learning. Students strengthen their foundational understandings through cooperative learning, differentiated instruction, use of iPads and tablets, and online educational programs. Teachers design interdisciplinary lessons that incorporate critical thinking, encouraging students to problem-solve and consider issues from a multi-faceted approach. Students are challenged to think about how we, as individuals, influence and shape our physical and biological world, and to think responsibly about practical solutions to societal issues.
SJES works diligently to broaden our educational programs and enrich students' learning experiences. Our newly built STEM lab, made possible with a grant from Ocean First Bank and funds provided by our PTA, is equipped with laptops, microscopes, an interactive whiteboard, and a 3-D printer. Students utilize this new technology to create, build, and design structures that utilize solar energy, withstand hurricane winds, conserve drinking water, preserve our beaches, and efficiently transport goods across oceans. Students are gaining an awareness of issues beyond their personal everyday scope, respect for the beauty of creation, and an appreciation of how classroom knowledge is applicable to real-life.
SJES is proud of the dedication and accomplishments of its students, parents, and staff, and honored to educate our world's future leaders.
