Center Hill Middle School is a high-performing school building a tradition of excellence through a commitment to fundamental quality in all aspects of academic performance. School personnel demonstrate collaborative and concerted efforts to not only maintain a consistent level of above-average student achievement, but also adapt data-driven instruction to target areas of improvement necessary to sustain continued success.
CHMS staff continuously collect, analyze, and apply learning from a range of varied data sources. Through the careful critique of specific benchmark assessment item results to determine trends of proficiency and concentrate on specific competencies in classroom instruction, the CHMS faculty is able to tailor lessons via differentiation to meet better-defined needs on a per grade, per class basis. Strategies for implementation are readily accepted from district-deployed core-subject specialists, and a balance of professional rapport and flexibility has been established in regards to improvement from feedback therein.
The Desoto County School District openly communicates comprehensive information to stakeholders. CHMS personnel maintain a climate of expected contact with parents, each faculty member and administrator is also available for parent-initiated contact via official email addresses and school-regulated, teacher-run classroom webpages, reflecting current foci in the curriculum and stemming directly from the CHMS website.
A progressive school consciously aiming to place the best interest of the student at the helm of planning, analysis, and improvement, CHMS demonstrates a solid grasp on prioritizing greatness and the maintenance of successful practices, while also remaining forward-thinking in deploying specific and meaningful adjustments to ensure future success.
