We promise to Notice, Invite, Challenge, and Empower each other.

At Holmes Elementary School, we start the quest for excellence with the “whole child” in mind. The foundation of our student success is grounded in the social, emotional, and academic well-being of our students. The more students feel safe, supported, and loved, the more they are ready to excel in the realm of accepting rigorous programming. We firmly stand by this concept and back it up with formal whole child training for our staff and a continuous commitment to the tenants that encompass the whole child. As a staff, we also teach a "Word of the Month" that focuses on how students can treat others or grow themselves as citizens. We are a "Be N.I.C.E." school that educates our students on noticing, inviting, challenging, and empowering each other.

We are intentional about our curriculum choices, instructional strategies, and our data analysis to reach all learners. With our focus on continual improvement and best practice our students continue to grow and learn at their level. We also work closely with the other elementary in our district to align our programs and strive to teach the standard with the utmost fidelity. Assessment, both formative and summative, allow us to have those deep conversations about next steps and determine student needs.

We utilize several key strategies that are used to encourage and challenge all students to reach their potential, but the true key is the strong relationship we have cultivated with the triad of stakeholders (parents, staff, students) that are paramount to our success. Our community supports our school and with that support we can continue to raise the bar in terms of our expectations for what we can accomplish with our students.

See. Believe. Achieve. is our motto and we stand firmly behind it and work towards that each day. Our staff is dedicated to all children and desire to "Make a Difference”"each day. This dedication benefits all of our students.
