T.S. Cooley Elementary Magnet School is a public k - 5 school located in southwest Louisiana that serves approximately 300 students from all areas of Calcasieu Parish. The fine and performing arts magnet program hosted at the school is nationally certified and allows students to participate in enriching experiences on a daily basis. The artistic programs, innovative curriculum opportunities, and safe, nurturing environment directly contribute to the high levels of academic achievement.

The shared vision of fostering a love of learning and building a strong foundation for lifelong skills can be seen and felt in the rich school culture. High expectations and a partnership of staff, students, parents, and community members produce a learning environment that strives to develop the whole child. Students are encouraged to take learning risks, expand their creativity, develop leadership qualities and cultivate communication skills. Student empowerment and a shared responsibility for learning play a vital role in the setting and attainment of meaningful goals that lead to high achievement in all levels.
