Paintsville Elementary School is nestled in the heart of the Appalachian foothills in Eastern Kentucky. For 128 years, our small school has been the hub of the community, with each child becoming an example of the "it takes a village to raise a child" mindset. Every single day, in every single classroom, we live the mission of our school.

Paintsville Elementary School was named a Kentucky School of Distinction in 2016 and 2017, and is the backbone of one of the top ranking school districts in the state. Our faculty and staff have created innovative classrooms for instruction that encompass technology, hands-on-learning, and many incorporate a flipped classroom teaching approach. We employ a Growth Mindset in our school, with the underlying premise that all can achieve at high levels. Our principal adheres to the policy of, "What is best for the students?" All drive our desire for success. Teachers have developed learning environments that meet the needs of all students. Teachers applied for and obtained more than $17,000.00 worth of grant money in 2017 for individual classroom innovation. Our school seeks out and pursues opportunities that will shape the future of our students.
