Magdalen Catholic School students in Church of the Magdalen 2017
Magdalen Catholic School is a pre-school-8th grade school, located in the Diocese of Wichita, Kansas. Serving 517 students from 351 families. We strongly believe that all of our 517 students come to us each day with many gifts, many strengths. Our mission is to develop these gifts, whatever they may be, within the Catholic faith. The formation of the entire child, spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally, is key to our mission. Through daily Mass, a strong presence of our Pastoral staff, rigorous academics, a variety of programs to meet the interests of students, abundant support staff, and a highly qualified faculty, Magdalen Catholic School is a faith filled school, committed to meeting the needs of all students.
As an additional result of our mission, with the support of the Pastor, school administration, staff and faculty, School Council, and parents, Magdalen Catholic School undertook a comprehensive process to address how to make Catholic education available to more students in our parish family, specifically students who are learners with exceptionalities. The initiative was our parish and school's reflective response to the pastoral leadership of Pope Francis, who has encouraged us to "reach out to the margins". Just as our children are welcome at the Eucharistic table, so we desire, as a parish community, to have as many children as possible benefit from the many blessings of a Catholic education.
