Hickory Creek 2018 Staff

Hickory Creek Middle School (HCMS) located in Frankfort, Illinois, is attended by 906 sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students.

In the forefront of every decision made at HCMS, is student achievement and social emotional well-being. Using student data, we schedule each student to ensure maximum productivity. The daily schedule was restructured to allow teachers to become content specialists and move our students forward. Our most impactful formula for success is our daily Professional Learning Communities. Our staff plans individualized educational experiences that capitalize on the strengths each child. We offer a full academic and co-curricular program that prides itself on a "Tradition of Excellence."

Each student receives 85 minutes of English Language Arts, 65 minutes of mathematics, 41 minutes of science, and 41 minutes of social studies. In addition to these four subjects, all students take a 41 minute Encore (Spanish, science technology engineering and math, music, or art class), 41 minutes of physical education and a 20 minute advisory class. All classes are developed to connect 21st century problem solving and collaboration skills.

Outside of the regular school day, an array of extracurricular opportunities are available to all HCMS students. Activities range from Band, and Mathletes to nearly every athletic team sponsored by the Illinois Elementary School Association.
