Working together as lifelong learners and responsible citizens

Working together as lifelong learners and responsible citizens

Mighty Egrets are…

Learners:
Mighty Egrets value teaming and develop skills to collaborate and work together to problem solve. We teach our student learners the value of perseverance when confronted with a tough situation. Implementation of key strategies and processes, support and challenge students to develop their potential, academically, emotionally, physically, socially, and culturally.

Citizens:
We are active in our community and partner with our community to make a difference in and improve life for all. Our student citizens regularly have collections of food for our Food Bank, toiletry items for the homeless, and have collected blanket and towels for the animals at the Hawaiian Humane Society. This past school year, Mighty Egrets raised $3,000 for the hurricane victims in Texas and Florida. Our Student Council hosts recycling drives monthly and volunteer to clean beaches to protect our island environment.

We maintain and benefit from strong community participation with our military partner the U.S. Army, 84th Engineers Battalion, Schofield Barracks, community groups such as the Mililani Lions Club, Mililani Sunrise Rotary Club, Kokua Foundation, area Legislators, and City Council representatives.

Parents are an integral part of our team and provide important support for their child. Our parent organization, Hui 'O Mililani Uka ensures parents have a voice in the education and welfare of their children.

Excellence:
We believe that all students can meet proficiency through continuous implementation of targeted focused researched based instruction, review of student data, targeted intervention with varying content, process, and products within our safe learning environment.
