Simpson Elementary School is one of eighty elementary schools in the largest school district in Georgia - Gwinnett County Public Schools. Our community takes great pride in the accomplishments of its students, the high expectations of our excellent staff, and the reputation for being a state and nationally recognized elementary school. Sparky the Superstar is our beloved mascot. All students and staff incorporate the Simpson norms – honesty, respect, responsibility, cooperation, kindness, perseverance and courage - into our daily lives. Our leadership motto "A leader does the right thing even when no one is watching" guides us in making good choices.
Our primary focus is on teaching and learning with an emphasis on learning. The AKS (Academic Knowledge and Skills) is the countywide foundational piece of our instructional programs. The Quality Plus Teaching Strategies (QPTS) are strategies that lead to optimal student learning. The QPTS are cross-subject, cross-grade level strategies that represent priority instructional methods that Gwinnett teachers use daily. Our students also participate in art, music, physical education, Spanish and STEM education.
Simpson superstars enjoy enriching, problem solving programs such as Math Wittzle Pro, Odyssey of the Mind, Readers Rally, Robotics and chorus. Our Odyssey of the Mind team won the World Championship title in June 2018! Simpson Elementary has strong community support and involvement. Both PTA and All Pro Dads support family activities such as our Fall Festival, Arts in Education program, Mother/Son Game Night and Father/Daughter Dance. Our school spirit combines excitement, enthusiasm and joy!
