Tavelli Elementary School - Fort Collins, CO

Tavelli Elementary
Tavelli Elementary is a STEAM focus school located in Fort Collins, Colorado. Our school is PreK-5 with 625 diverse student learners. From 2013-2018 Tavelli has been recognized by the Colorado Department of Education as a High Achieving School. We focus on academic excellence and the social-emotional needs of students while developing a passion and love for learning.
Tavelli Elementary believes in a rigorous education for all students. Providing solid tiered instruction is our constant focus. Teachers look at student progress from a triangulation of data to determine if students need interventions or enrichments. Staff is constantly collaborating while looking at a body of evidence to inform their instruction. A collective belief that all students can learn at a high level, while fostering students' abilities to monitor their own learning is key. SMART notebooks are used by students to set goals, reflect, and understand their role in learning. Teachers provide specific feedback and have meaningful conversations with students, building positive relationships and creating assessment capable learners.
Keeping the balance between a rigorous, supportive, and empowering culture helps our students reach their greatest potential. To enhance the STEAM focus, students participate in numerous activities such as Running Club, Little Kids Rock, Chess Club, Musical Theater, and Odyssey of the Mind to name a few.
Families and a supportive community rally around Tavelli in ways that go above and beyond. We understand the importance of being an educational family and know that we are working together to achieve excellence.
