Gomes is proud to be a public, inclusion school. This classroom model secures opportunities for students with Individual Education Plans (IEP) to learn alongside typically developing peers in a general education environment. It’s an all-embracing ideology that values diversity and the unique contributions each student brings to the classroom. Our students reflect the diversity and global-connectivity of our Silicon Valley location. Emphasis is placed on leadership, innovation, community-building, and generating respect, tolerance, and compassion for others.
Teachers collaborate in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) to improve the learning and achievement of all students. Each PLC team develops SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals to improve student learning. We’re driven by four essential questions: What do we expect our students to learn? How will we know when each student has learned it? How will we respond when some students do not learn it? How will we respond when some students already know it? A balanced, coherent system is utilized to determine who might need support, remediation, or enrichment.
Our school’s success rests on four pillars. First is our strong and efficient administrative staff. Second is a team of dedicated and nurturing teachers. Third are the engaged, highly motivated students. Equally important is the supportive parents and families. Our strength is our Gomes community.
