Grace Community Elementary School is the largest JrK through 5th grade private school in East Texas. For nearly 45 years, Grace has been providing Tyler and Smith County students with an outstanding academic education, taught from a biblical worldview. The school is driven by its mission to assist Christian families in educating, equipping, and encouraging their children to influence the world for Christ. Since its founding, Grace has honored its core values: educational sanctification, redemptive community, and life as worship.
Through educational sanctification, the goal is for students to understand God's Word and His perspective on all of life and all of creation. Grace provides a challenging and holistic academics in Bible, language arts, history, science, math, Spanish, art, music, computer, and library resource center. At the same time, our teachers understand that each child is important and crafted lovingly by their God to accomplish great things. Therefore, teachers are available to help students individually along the way, giving them the support they need to succeed.
As image-bearers of God, we are made for community. Education is an inherently relational process. At Grace a redemptive community is built within the school with programs like Reading Buddies, Servant Leaders, Kite Day, elementary nights or camps, and weekly school-wide chapel. Grace equips students and families to live lives of worship and service. A hallmark of the elementary school is a well-developed character education program. Each six weeks, two character qualities are emphasized which include gratitude, honesty, obedience, respect, responsibility, and self-control.
