In the ever-changing world of education, our school has remained true to our motto: Skyland Elementary is a place where children flourish. Our students, teachers, staff and parents work seamlessly together making Skyland a true community school. The climate of our school is one of positivity as we embrace each child and strive to meet the individual needs of our students, socially, physically, mentally, and academically. We promote a safe, supportive learning environment to nurture and challenge all students. High expectations set the stage for student success. The effective implementation of an intrinsic and extrinsic rewards system builds students' confidence and generates enthusiasm for learning.
Skyland teachers promote active student learning in a variety of ways. The integration of the arts into our classrooms, as well as the influx of new technology, allows our students to maximize achievement through a variety of learning styles. Data analysis and professional learning communities help drive instruction and lead our team in making impactful curricular decisions.
Our students have many opportunities to participate in a variety of activities, such as a history club, art club, Skyrobics exercise team, and a morning news show -- just to name a few. With the support of our teachers, staff, and PTA, our students excel in the areas of academics and arts, as well as character development. Our goal is to prepare our children to be successful in our school setting, as well as in the future. By working collaboratively with those we serve, there's no doubt that children at Skyland Elementary will continue to flourish!
