Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary (GMAE) is a private, Catholic, co-educational academy committed to providing high-quality education integrated with Gospel values. Sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy and established in 1861, GMAE combines a tradition of academic excellence with innovative teaching methodology and progressive technology integration, creating a nurturing, child-centered environment. Dedicated to Shaping Tomorrow's Leaders, One Student at a Time, GMAE fosters an unsurpassed passion for learning and prepares students for leadership roles that will leave an indelible mark on the global society.

Embracing and fulfilling the mission of Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, GMAE provides students an enriched environment incorporating a challenging curriculum that utilizes diverse teaching methods. Numerous opportunities are provided for students to immerse themselves in grade-level and schoolwide service projects. Developing the faith life of GMAE's community, in partnership with parents, strengthens students' awareness of their Mercy commitment to share their talents and resources with those in need.

At GMAE, students are nurtured and encouraged to reach the highest standards of excellence. Combining a challenging academic curriculum with a multi-faceted visual and fine arts program, an extensive athletic program, and numerous extended learning opportunities, students are inspired to recognize their gifts and actualize their potential. In order to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, GMAE incorporates a school counseling program, the McAuley Learning Center, and the Gifted and Talented Enrichment Program to provide a rigorous education while holding true to the core values of a Mercy school.
