Cheyenne Middle School - Edmond, OK

A deep tradition of excellence in education is what continues to challenge our staff and students at Cheyenne Middle School. Located in Edmond, Oklahoma, we are a sixth through eighth grade school with an enrollment of 888 students. Our stated mission is: The Cheyenne Team joins with parents and the community to empower all students to succeed. The encouragement to be successful stems from our families, district officials, our professional learning communities, and our partnerships with surrounding businesses and universities.

We nurture student growth through the continued enhancement of our school culture, innovative school programs, data interpretation, collaboration, and the development of purposeful relationships with our families and community. We have been a Great Expectations Model school for the past 3 consecutive years. The 17 classroom practices and 6 basic beliefs of GE have had a decisive impact on our school behaviors, climate, and academics. This program has challenged students and staff to create an environment that celebrates teaching and learning, inspiring them to seek academic excellence. Our Mustang Motto is proudly recited aloud and referenced in our daily workings.

The curriculum and instruction at Cheyenne continues to be innovative, constantly striving to engage students in problem-solving and technology. We cultivate tomorrow's leaders through the addition of 1 to 1 technology implementation, coding classes, STEM lessons, an outdoor classroom, arts, music, clubs, and productions. These opportunities, in combination with our core classes, focus on whole child development. Cheyenne is a place where students belong and thrive in an environment that is never stagnant.
