Legacy Elementary School - West Fargo, ND

Dr. Stephen Covey often talked about "Big Rocks." Legacy Elementary has many Big Rocks that are the foundation and fabric to all we do in order to push our students to unprecedented heights academically and socially. We believe that even at the elementary level, leadership should be a purposeful trait that is uncovered, harnessed and developed. We believe that when you discover each students' unique strengths and passions, then tie those to a leadership role, amazing things can and will happen in the curriculum and beyond.

Another Big Rock for our school is in the area of physical well-being. We work diligently to immerse our students in a curriculum that is both engaging and active. Engaged, active, collaborative, and empowered classrooms, teachers and of course students are our focus at Legacy. The most unique aspect of Legacy, however, is our flexible seating/personalized learning spaces in every classroom and throughout our entire building. There are short and long-term health benefits to an environment such as this, but also the benefit of choice and empowerment for our students. We feel successful when we are able to create a learning environment that closely mirrors the world our students will be helping to create.

Lastly, our building is built around a positive/growth mindset. When we approach both the highs and lows of life with a positive/growth mindset, our highs will go from good to great and our lows will end up being some of the most life-changing and impactful moments in our existence.
