NBRS Badge for Riverbend Elementary School

Riverbend Elementary School - Clyde, NC

Growing together as a community of learners, every day in every way.

Growing together as a community of learners, every day in every way.

Riverbend is located in the western mountains of North Carolina. We exemplify our state's motto: Esse quam videri "To be, rather than to seem." We believe that we offer the nation's best education to our students through aligning standard based instruction with highly effective teachers in a safe and secure learning environment.

At Riverbend, everyone is a learner! Parents are given opportunities to learn through special events showcasing the work of each grade, as well as what to expect in years to come. Students are highly engaged in learning through hands-on STEM projects, collaborative research, and gardening, to name a few. Teachers are learners in and outside of the classroom in our very own PD courses called Riverbend University.

When you work and learn at Riverbend you are running the good race. We pride ourselves for not just meeting our goals, but for constantly pushing the goals farther back and challenging every student and staff member to achieve more and be greater.

Our heart is to produce students that are lifelong learners. We have found that reading is a most critical component of this objective. It is not about reading one book, but many. At Riverbend, our students' reading volume is immense. This effectively contributes to our continued success in producing the best students.

Riverbendians are the products of our K-5 teachers' collaboration and drive for success. When you walk the halls of this school, you find active learners, working teachers, and a place where everyone knows your name.
