Brunswick County Early College High School is an innovative North Carolina STEM School of Distinction on the campus of Brunswick Community College. Students simultaneously earn a high school diploma and an Associate's Degree or two years of transferable college credit during their four or five year tenure. When we say, "Success is Our Tradition," that is code for "strong work ethic" which our students proudly display. Brunswick ECHS consistently exceeds growth on state performance measures and is one of ninety-four North Carolina schools to earn a School Performance Grade of "A." Our students score in the top five percent of ACT scores in the state, and we are very proud that we maintain a 100 percent graduation rate. Honors level courses comprise 88 percent of our high school offerings, 77 percent of graduates are Honor Graduates with a weighted GPA of 3.5 or more, and 80 percent of graduates matriculate to four-year universities.

Our students embrace a rigorous STEM focused curriculum and embrace new challenges. Schoolwide initiatives designed to improve writing, interacting with collegiate-level texts, engineering Design Challenge, time management, self-advocacy and relationship building are the core of our success as a high school. We have a one to one technology initiative for our student body. The faculty of ECHS partners with the community and industry to provide field and service learning opportunities so our students, many of whom come from rural Brunswick County, can envision the relevance of their education to their future success.
