Scholars and Race Girl gearing up to support Race for Education Day!

Centerville Elementary is a Frederick County Maryland Public School located in the suburb of Urbana, Maryland. Centerville welcomes each star scholar every day with a smile and an encouraging word to be the best shining star in and out of the classroom. We encourage our star scholars to have a vision, be a learner not a finisher, learn to struggle, feed their passion, and most importantly own their education. We believe that our scholars learn best when they are involved in verbal discourse with each other and the teacher. The scholars use verbal discourse during math number talks and during English language arts to promote high levels of comprehension when reading complex text. Centerville elementary star staff members infuse technology into daily instruction using the SAMR model. This allows for the use of technology to compliment the instruction and learning of our scholars.

Star Pride is what drives our school culture that is promoted among all students. The students that follow the star pride way are rewarded with recognition at a Star Pride assembly. Our stars shine in the classroom but extend the star pride outside of the classroom by supporting causes within the community. Each year the students have a sock drive, food drive, and other initiatives to support the people of need within our community.

We are confident as a school family that the scholars who attended Centerville Elementary will be the best 21st century learners and will leave their impact on their community and our world.
