White Street School 4th Annual Story Book Hat Parade!

White Street School is an urban, public elementary school serving the neighborhood students in the East Forest Park section of Springfield Massachusetts. White Street School underwent dramatic changes during the 2013-2014 school year including but not limited to a change in administration, best instructional practices, coaching model and a collaborative planning and data analysis cycle. Over the past five years, these changes lead to dramatic increases in teacher capacity, significant increases in student achievement, and a safe, supportive learning environment for our children and families. Our focuses at White Street School are to sustain the acceleration of student learning, maintain a collaborative and data-driven Professional Learning Community and meet students' social, emotional, and health needs.

Our school-wide motto, Believe to Achieve, permeates through every facet of our school. Our staff is filled with caring, committed, compassionate individuals who work tirelessly to build relationships, plan engaging and effective lessons and activities, and push all students to meet high expectations every day. Our students are hard-working, diverse, respectful scholars that take pride in their work and success at White Street School. We work to develop a growth mind-set by focusing on even the smallest accomplishments or increases in data with a primary emphasis on effort and grit.

Our expectations of CARE: Caring Accountable and Respectful Everyday allow students to feel they are part of a community, they are responsible for their learning and they are valued individuals. This is what makes White Street School an exceptional place for students, staff and families.
