College Wood Elementary is an exciting place of learning located in the Indianapolis suburb of Carmel, Indiana. College Wood is the educational home of nearly 740 diverse kindergarten through fifth grade students whose families hail from 11 countries and speak 24 native languages.
Academic and social-emotional development are at the core of every initiative within College Wood. Our students consistently rank among the top 10% of Indiana students in annual I-STEP+ standardized testing and are challenged daily by highly qualified staff and with the latest technology through the best practice teaching of our Indiana Academic Standards. Routine Social Thinking lessons and language support students in their own social awareness, self-regulation, emotional management, and perspective taking experiences, providing them with the optimal environment in which to grow and learn.
College Wood students, families, and staff come together throughout the year in celebration and in service. Annual family activities led by the PTO allow families opportunities to learn and play together. The importance of philanthropic service is experienced first-hand through various donation drives and a grand annual event to benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma society.
Community pride runs deep at College Wood as one of eleven elementary schools that feeds into a single, dynamic high school of more than 5,000 students which boasts a graduation rate of more than 97%.
College Wood embodies the mission of Carmel Clay Schools to provide opportunities for all students to realize their potential in an ever-changing world through its vision of Experience Excellence - Explore Opportunities - Realize Potential.
