Conrady Junior High School continues to defy the odds. Given the number of students from low socioeconomic homes and high numbers of English learners, the school of nearly 1,100 students continues to be an academic high-performance outlier in its demographic category in Illinois.
All students are monitored in a systematic way through a process known as "Quality Review"- a hallmark of the North Palos School District. With a laser-light focus on target students, Conrady provides a variety of support systems for students through creative scheduling, school-day interventions, as well as through its extended school day program. Teachers create all of the curriculum and assessments resulting in extensive knowledge and application of learning standards.
Every staff member has the choice to embrace the concept of "team" or "get off the bus". The dedication, determination, and drive of this phenomenal staff is reflective of the school's motto ''Be the Best for the World". The degree of involvement and support from district-level administration is extraordinary.
The principal is often heard saying "Conrady is a hard place to work but a great place to work". Great results are not always from a cutting-edge idea or innovative programming but rather a combination of passion, care, and focus on what is important. Conrady is the epitome of these qualities.
