Summary

The Charter Oak-Ute CSD has adopted the following mission statement:
The Charter Oak-Ute CSD is committed to providing a quality small school atmosphere to enhance the abilities of students toward reaching their utmost potential.

The Charter Oa-Ute CSD is located in rural Western Iowa where work ethic, commitmen,t and family involvement are staples of the district. The school system is fortunate to have staff, parents, and community members that are committed to the process of providing the best quality education that can be provided with the resources available. The school district staff is dedicated to ensuring that every student is provided educational teaching strategies that are best suited for those individual learners and the passion they have to meet that goal is demonstrated every day.

Changing demographics and ever-increasing mobility within our district, has created unique challenges and issues for the district in the area of Literacy and student success academically. The district had to find ways to meet the needs of all of our students with the limited financial resources available to us. This goal was accomplished through a combination of teachers assuming more duties and responsibilities, and the sharing of staff and resources with a neighboring school district. Alignment of staff was scheduled to put students into learning situations that would focus on their individual needs to increase proficiency levels.

The Charter Oa-Ute CSD has been actively involved in PBIS to help improve climate and culture with the goal of improving academic results.
