NBRS Badge for Riverwatch Middle School

Riverwatch Middle School - Suwanee, GA

Riverwatch Middle School is happy, healthy, and hardy.

Riverwatch Middle School is happy, healthy, and hardy.

Nestled along the banks of the Chattahoochee River, Riverwatch Middle School serves a suburban Atlanta, Georgia community in Forsyth County. Riverwatch has over 1300 students from over 70 different countries. The diversity of our student body focused our efforts on developing our school's motto and beliefs.

The Riverwatch motto is "Together we LEAD - Learn, Exceed, Achieve, and Dream." Our staff, students, and community embrace the belief that collaboration expands opportunities for students so that they can achieve their dreams. Through high expectations and strong community support, we work to grow student success with a focus on 21st century workforce skills; problem solving, creativity, critical thinking, and technology as foundational components of instruction.

In addition to our motto, we ground our work in the belief that a happy, healthy, and hardy school culture supports the growth of all. This guiding principle has allowed us to foster a learning community that balances a rigorous curriculum (emphasizing Webb's Depth of Knowledge questioning and writing across content areas) with opportunities for students to explore their own passions. Elective courses, fine arts, athletics, and a range of over 30 extracurricular clubs support the development of the whole child. Additionally, our entire staff plays a role in our character education program, ensuring we make personal connections with every student and are invested in them as both scholars and individuals.

Overall, the pride of Riverwatch is in its people. Our supportive community and dedicated staff form a resilient alliance in order to foster well-rounded, life-long learners.
