When Kedron Elementary School opened its doors in the fall of 1995 in Peachtree City, Georgia, the school motto of "excellence in all things" established a drive for high achievement that has been maintained while serving an increasingly diverse community. The school has been recognized by the Governor's Office for Student Achievement at the gold and platinum levels for highest performance nearly every year since 2005. The most recent academic accomplishment is that of earning 100.8 points on Georgia's College and Career Ready Performance Index in 2016. We achieve high academic performance through a strong focus on standards-based instruction and assessment while at the same time developing the whole child through opportunities to participate in fine arts and physical education.
Technology is used to engage students through personalized learning as well as using it as a vehicle for students to creatively reflect what they are learning. High levels of parent engagement contribute to our success. A very active PTO provides resources that further enhance children's experiences at Kedron with refurbished playground equipment, additional technology resources, STEM Day activities, cultural arts events, and festivals. PTO also funds teachers' collaborative planning days, allowing teachers to intensely focus on instructional planning. Kedron Elementary School is a place where students, families, and teachers continuously strive for excellence in all things.
