Our Future Engineers at NASA Night
A child's journey at Vintage Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Magnet begins in first grade when he/she enters our voluntary integration Magnet School. It is our belief that all students can achieve. Our students are from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. More than half of our students are from low-income families. We have Gifted and Talented Students, English Learners, Intensive and Strategic Students, Special Education Students and Standard English Learners. In order to meet the specific learning needs of these students, we supplement our instructional program with classroom assistants, a Science Lab Assistant, library aide, microcomputer support assistant, and Assistant Principal.
We value positive relationships between teachers, administrators, parents, and students. As students progress through the grades, our dedicated staff provides an instructional program that encourages and challenges students to develop their full potential academically, emotionally, physically, socially, and culturally. We support student academic growth through Science Inquiry, Project Based and Hands-on learning activities and emphasize the implementation of a cross curricular model to develop 21st Century Skills.
It is our school's mission to prepare students to be college and career ready in the STEM fields. Parental support and involvement are key and critical to our overall success. They serve as classroom volunteers, Parent and Teacher Association Board Members, field trip chaperones, project managers, and coaches for Odyssey of the Mind Teams and VEX Robotics.
