Santa Fe Christian Upper School Main Entrance
Celebrating its 40th year in 2017, the Santa Fe Christian Upper School is a dynamic learning community which takes seriously its charge to ""prepare the Christian leaders of tomorrow."
The SFC Upper School seeks excellence in all academic and co-curricular programs while maintaining a laser focus on the spiritual development of each student. Striving for excellence in both academic and spiritual development provides opportunities for continual growth and change in our programs, faculty, staff, and curricular offerings. Recent noteworthy additions and improvements include: AP Chemistry, AP Principles of Computer Science, and AP Physics; additional math sequences which emphasize conceptual problem-solving, real-world applications, and provide entry into the American Invitational Mathematics Competition have been established; individual grade-level retreats are held annually; an online/seminar hybrid Bible course for 11th grade students opened in 2016; and significant resources are invested in teacher development and professional growth each year.
It is critical to the mission of SFC to develop leadership in students. Two distinctive programs which help SFC students fully develop as individual leaders are athletics and global mission trips. The SFC athletic program utilizes leadership development seminars for grades 9-12 to implement and achieve the "Be a Champion" philosophy, while international mission trips provide students with powerful, hands-on experiences to mature emotionally, socially, and culturally within a global setting. Students are placed in new cultures and experience moments that push them out of their comfort zones and broaden their worldview.
