Vestavia Hills Elementary Liberty Park

Summary

Vestavia Hills Elementary Liberty Park represents the heart and soul of a thriving and vibrant community in central Alabama. Truly a neighborhood school, Liberty Park Elementary serves families with students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The learning that takes place at the school exemplifies the school vision of "learning without limits." Learning without limits implies each student reaching their unique potential.

In recognition of the wide range of abilities students will need in today's rapidly changing world, Liberty Park Elementary provides a broad spectrum of innovative, high-quality programs and extracurricular activities that help students discover their unique strengths and interests. Students are provided hands-on collaborative learning that encourages higher-order thinking, dialogue, and building connections.

School stakeholders realize that complacency is the enemy of continued excellence and that continued improvement and growth will only be possible by maintaining a growth mindset and commitment to each student. The school continues to demonstrate extraordinary growth on achievement measures. On the most recent assessments, one hundred percent of students tested in third, fourth, and fifth grades achieved proficiency in the area of mathematics and ninety-five percent of students achieved proficiency in reading--an increase of nine percentage points and twelve percentage points, respectively.

The Liberty Park Elementary staff maintain a focus on areas for growth and improvement, individually and collectively. Development of goals is ongoing at the school, team, and individual level. In this culture of continual improvement, school stakeholders are motivated, excited, and fully invested in the schoo's mission.
