The mission of Dealey International Academy is to provide an exemplary education that develops and empowers all students to become productive citizens in our global society. Students learn to investigate their world beyond their immediate environment, to recognize different perspectives, to communicate ideas effectively with diverse audiences, and to take action to address social issues.

Dealey is not a neighborhood school. The diverse population brings students from 45 zip codes throughout Dallas from homes where over 19 different languages are spoken. Despite this commuting distance, Dealey benefits from a long tradition of strong support from families and the community.

As a small school in a big city, Dealey's success is a direct result of the attention teachers pay to each individual student. With only 200 students, the average class size is nineteen. Teachers have the time to engage with each individual student and to establish strong mutually-respectful relationships. With a family-like atmosphere, teachers are able to monitor students both academically and socially.

Teachers set high expectations for every student based on each individual student's current level and abilities. Students are motivated by their teachers' confidence to meet those expectations.

Teamwork and problem-based learning motivate students to succeed. Students often create the questions that guide their inquiry and investigation, creating excitement throughout the discovery process. Students are encouraged to discover and construct knowledge, rather than simply pass an exam.

In addition to the core subjects, Dealey offers a large variety of enrichment opportunities essential to the development of the whole child.
