Bethpage Elementary (BPE) commits to nurturing learners with challenging instructional opportunities in a safe environment while instilling time-tested values. These values embrace the school's rich educational history. BPE currently has a population of 294 students, many of whom belong to families who have sent three generations through Bethpage Elementary, building on the school's traditions.
BPE focuses on educating the whole child by providing a supportive, safe learning environment through positive behavior management, high expectations, and anti-bullying programs. These student supports maximize learning and foster character development and good decision-making. High behavioral standards allow the staff to maximize standards-based instruction and increase student engagement and motivation through strategies such as: Quantum Learning, goal setting, modeling, hands-on activities, and the meaningful use of technology. Students learn that anyone can succeed with hard work, a positive attitude, and support. Students know that the teachers, staff, and the community will help individuals meet goals and expectations.
To the community, BPE is more than just a school. It is the center of the community with tremendous parent and family support. Its rich legacy is due in part to the longevity of its faculty and staff. Staff members have built relationships with many of the students' parents and grandparents, resulting in a family atmosphere. This atmosphere builds trust with parents. Each one knows that the child comes first, and that at Bethpage Elementary, children are taught to discover from within their own potential.
