Pickering Valley Elementary School (PVES) is located in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. It is one of ten elementary schools in the high achieving Downingtown Area School District. PVES strives to educate its diverse student body to meet the challenges in a global society by supporting the individual child in a caring, collaborative environment.
PVES takes pride in developing respect, responsibility, and kindness. These values define our expectations for student behavior and lead to establishing a positive school community.
Collaboration is a key practice that enables PVES to successfully deliver rigorous curriculum, allowing for differentiated instruction and success for all. We use a whole child approach, ensuring we meet social, emotional, physical, cultural, academic, and creative needs.
Our students are part of a community which requires understanding of the 21st century challenges. We strive to nurture students to embrace high expectations and make positive contributions in the future. At PVES there are a number of yearly service projects such as food drives, clothing collections, and a community garden. Additionally, our parent association cultivates a sense of community by partnering with teachers to deliver activities which support our students.
Evidence of the success of our educational programs is found in former students who have returned as adults, eager to provide the same educational experiences for their children. PVES is a dedicated, collaborative family, focused on the growth, well-being, respect, and cooperation of each member.
