The Harborfields Tornado News Team in Action!

The mission of Harborfields High School is based on a strong tradition of excellence that strives to recognize the strengths of each member of our high school family. Our efforts to personalize our learning environment has allowed all students to reach their fullest potential. Our parents are considered partners in the educational process and are an integral part of all decisions that are made. The students, parents, and staff of Harborfields High School operate as the "HF Family." This ideology speaks to the shared understanding of our values as a school community. We also employ several strategies to permit our students to develop to their full potential academically. Aside from recruiting and developing outstanding teachers, we have also removed barriers to student growth, with exceptional results. Our open enrollment policy allows students to enroll in any advanced course. This policy was developed with the shared understanding that each child develops in their own unique way. Our experience shows that students who choose to challenge themselves in upper level courses often rise to the occasion. As a result of this change in philosophy, we have experienced significant growth in honors and advanced placement courses over the past several years. In 2015, Harborfields High School administered 1,372 advanced placement exams. By simply removing barriers to enrollment, many of our students have challenged themselves with rigorous schedules and have benefited from their hard work. The impact on the culture of our school has been beneficial and has further solidified our tradition of excellence.
