The Eagles of Vera Ralya Elementary are "Improving Tomorrow by Learning Today." As a community of learners, we understand that the social-emotional needs of our students are as important as academic learning. By creating an environment where behavior expectations are taught, modeled, and used daily, students know that we care about each other, and put students' safety and security first.
Ralya is ranked in the 93rd percentile on Michigan's Top-Bottom list for student achievement. Ralya fourth graders were distinguished as "Academic State Champions" by Bridge Magazine. In addition, the Michigan Department of Education recognized Ralya for "significant growth in proficiency as a Title One School in ELA and Mathematics."
Ralya families serve alongside our staff to ensure both academic and social-emotional success for our children. Parent-teacher partnerships promote learning through traditional events, such as: Science, Art, Mathematics and Parent Instructional Nights, Mileage Club, Music Concerts, and the annual 5K Race for Ralya.
Ralya provides a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) to meet the needs of all of our diverse learners. By offering a school-wide approach to intervention services, all students have opportunities to learn through research-based core curriculum, as well as evidenced-based intervention programs.
Community values, traditions, data-driven decisions, relationships with families, and dedicated staff are at the heart of our school culture. Children are our top priority. From striving to meet the social-emotional needs of our students, to challenging them academically, to valuing a sense of community, to creating family partnerships; Ralya truly is a wonderful place to learn.
