Reeds Brook Middle School welcomes 375 6th, 7th, and 8th graders each day in the town of Hampden, Maine. We are a supportive learning community in which all students are challenged to achieve individual success. This holds true across our school as our student body, staff, and parents work together to create rigorous learning experiences, engaging co-curricular opportunities, and a family-like atmosphere throughout our building every day.
At Reeds Brook Middle School we have instituted a Core Values curriculum which highlights the importance of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, and Compassion. Students earn recognition through our schoolwide trading card program which identifies and celebrates individual students and their responsible and respectful acts throughout the school community. Through these efforts to promote good citizenship, our school climate is consistently positive and highly conducive to learning.
The benefits of our culture extend to student learning and achievement. Our students engage in challenging high interest curricula across the subject areas. We value learning across all domains and prioritize teaching the arts, technology, wellness, and foreign language along with traditional academic subjects. Teaching methods and program offerings are selected to engage students and promote high investment and high achievement results. Personal accountability and a close eye on individual student progress maintain consistently strong achievement results. Parents are invited to monthly Parent Advisory Group meetings to discuss the approaches used within the school and to offer their perspective on benefits to their children. Reeds Brook Middle School prides itself on being reflective, responsive, and communicative.
