Hip Hip Hooray for another Blue Ribbon Day!

Hip Hip Hooray for another Blue Ribbon Day!

North Harford Elementary School (NHES) is nestled in the rolling hills of northern Harford County and is part of an educational complex that is the cornerstone of our community. Rigorous curriculum, staff collaboration, and a supportive community are the building blocks that help provide opportunities for all NHES students to achieve to their highest potential in a safe and respectful environment. The vision of the North Harford community is "SOARing on the wings of success with Safety, Ownership, Achievement, and Respect for all." We have established many traditions at NHES that reflect this vision in the community we serve. Through their hard work and dedication to becoming contributing citizens, our students have earned the Green School designation for NHES. Utilizing STEM skills taught in the classroom, students regularly harvest a variety of crops from our school-based gardens to be served in our cafeteria. Additionally, NHES students and staff have established a Monarch Way Station and annually tag butterflies and monitor their habitat and progress. Our school's faculty, staff, and PTA have established a cohesive partnership that allows our students to flourish. Teachers have developed instructional programs based on collaboration and co-teaching that target the needs and talents of each student. The NHES PTA supports student learning outside of our classrooms and covers all costs for field trips and cultural events and assemblies, thus extending student learning and broadening their perspective of their world. Through common focus and unified efforts, NHES students SOAR!
