Avoyelles Public Charter School - Mansura, LA

Our heart, our mission, our world.

Our heart, our mission, our world.

Avoyelles Public Charter School is a K-12 school founded in 2000. Our mission statement reads, "In a safe, orderly, encouraging school environment, students will be guided in the development of character and learning potential in academically rigorous, content-rich educational programs. Through firm policies of discipline, and with parental and community involvement, the students will master essential academic and life skills to function in a global society."

We are located in rural Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana. While Louisiana often ranks at the bottom of lists in academic achievement, it is our goal to change that ranking, one child at a time. Though we have had numerous obstacles to overcome, we have managed, through diligent effort, to produce students of the highest quality. Over ninety percent of our students are college ready when they graduate from high school due to rigorous academic instruction, while being encouraged to excel in the arts and athletics.

In addition to teaching children, we strive to help our community and world. Each year, each class is required to take on a class service project. These service projects are designed to move our student's hearts to compassion for their fellow man. We have found that if we lead by example, our students are happy to give of themselves as well. The combination of training in mind and morals is truly what sets an APCS student apart and inspires them to use their talents to make a positive difference in the world.
